AlterNet gives us a revealing interview with genetic engineer Jack Heinemann, the lead author of a new peer-reviewed study that looked at GE crop production in the United States and in Europe. Among Heinemann’s findings is that the sustainability of the U.S. agricultural system over time is highly susceptible to variations in weather, pests, and other stressors because of dependence upon GMO crops.
